Lynée showed Elijah what she learned about Santa Carla and its alleged “vampire problem” more than thirty years ago. The story was told by Edgar Frog and told from his experiences. They were held riveted by the terribly convincing story. Some of it was told according to what Michael and Star experienced, and some of it was told by what Sam had gone through years before he turned. Elijah nearly doubled over, seemingly in pain, when he read the names of Edgar and Alan’s first vampire kill experiences.
The dog, Nanook, ran into the bathroom and pushed Paul into a garlic and vampire bath. Sam killed Dwayne by a crossbow. Michael and David faced off downstairs, and Michael flew David into his grandfather’s discarded deer antlers. Max exploded in the Emerson family’s fireplace. Their very first kill, though, was the one that hurt Elijah the most. Sam and Mike took Edgar and Alan to the vampire lair – the abandoned cave – and they found where the guys were sleeping. Not knowing who the head vampire was, they decided to “…kill them all!” And to “…start with the little one”: Marko.
“No!” Elijah weakly said. “NO!!” He screamed as he dropped to his knees.
Lynée didn’t know what to say. She dropped down beside him and took him in her arms, holding him close. She cried with him; hurt for him.
“It can’t be true. He can’t be dead. He can’t be!” Elijah said, feeling powerless.
“I’m sorry, baby,” Lynée said, “I’m so sorry, sweetheart.”
Elijah’s tears ran down Lynée’s neck and soaked her shirt. He didn’t want to accept that his brother, the brother he hadn’t seen in over thirty years, was dead. He couldn’t accept it. If it were true, then who the hell was sending those letters? Who was prowling through their homes with ease, and slipping out like the wind? Who was drawing them to an abandoned cave on the shore that had an air of mystery at its mere entrance?
It had been a few weeks since Lynée refused to stay alone anymore, so one morning, after returning their kids to school after giving them a free day off, they went jogging along the shore together. They went toward the cave, and the mouth of the cave looked as if it could close someone in and swallow them up if it chose to. Freezing cold air rushed at them from inside, and it smelled like century’s old dust and death. They had to turn away from the stink, and they shivered from the cold. They didn’t know why they were drawn there, but they were much too frightened to go inside.
They were looking at the entrance, and with every rotten, freezing wind that blew out at them from inside the cave, they grew more frightened. They were about to turn and leave when they saw what looked like movement inside. They were going to just chalk it up to the wind blowing old clothing or fabric inside. After all, the cave did contain the ruins of an old hotel. They would have stuck with that conclusion had it not been for the fact that the movement looked human and had a face.
Lynée let out a whoosh of air as she immediately almost fell to her knees. Elijah caught her from falling, but his eyes never left the figure in the cave entrance. They were being beckoned inside, but neither of them could move. They were rooted to the spot. They saw the figure gesturing them forth, but Lynée shook her head and started to pull Elijah to leave. He slowly started to follow, but his eyes could not leave the sight of the figure in the cave entrance; not until it faded away.
They ran away from the area and got into Elijah’s SUV in the parking lot of the beach. They sat silently trying to reflect on what they witnessed. Neither of them wanted to believe it was real, yet both of them saw it. They couldn’t deny that what they saw was real. There was a ghostly figure trying to lure them into that cave, there was no denying it.
“Are we crazy? Did that really just happen?” Lynée asked, gripping the wheel, though she hadn’t started the engine yet.
“We can’t be, love. We both saw it.” Elijah said, still in shock.
“Do you think that’s who… or what’s been lurking through our homes; through my dreams?” She asked.
“It has to be, baby,” Elijah slowly explained. “That was my brother.”
Lynée looked over at him, stricken speechless.
Elijah nodded slowly, feeling her shocked eyes on him, “It’s true. That was Marko. He still looked the way he did when he left home, but that was him.”
Lynée started the engine, “Oh my God. What are we going to do?”
Elijah leaned back in the seat, “I don’t know, babe. I guess we wait and see what he does next.”
Lynée started the short drive home, “Oh joy,” she sarcastically said, “I can’t wait for that!”
Elijah actually laughed a little bit and took her right hand as she drove.
Elijah sat on his porch late that night as his children slept. Though he knew Lynée wasn’t sleeping, she didn’t want to keep him from home much longer. She just hoped that his brother was a friendly vampire. She wanted to see if maybe he would talk to Elijah rather than harm them. Maybe Escort bayan even have a conversation with her to tell her what he wanted.
He walked back into his house and was about to grab another soda. He hadn’t too long ago gotten off the phone with Lynée, so he wanted to see if she would at least try to get some rest. She promised she’d call him if she couldn’t sleep. After what they witnessed, he knew it wouldn’t be easy. You don’t just close your eyes and start dreaming about unicorns, rainbows, lollipops, and gumdrops after seeing a ghost early in the day. Especially not after suspecting that ghost walked through your house and disappeared into the night.
After deciding against getting a drink, he walked into his bedroom, but when he got there, he stopped frozen in his tracks. There sitting on his bed as if he belonged there, was Marko. He was still young. As young and vibrant as he’d been when he left home in the 1980s. His face and smile were still young and innocent, making Elijah remember how they talked and joked around when they were younger; when he was younger.
His hair was still a reddish blonde, long wavy mullet that Elijah remembered admiring as a kid. He still wore earrings, jeans, studded denim jacket, and a cropped shirt. Everything was exactly the same. There wasn’t one scar, wrinkle, or even an age spot on his face. They stared at each other for the longest time. Elijah was in shock, and Marko was in awe, but emotion flowed between them.
“Marko… oh my God, man!” Elijah said, still staring in shock.
“Yeah, it’s me. Thirty years looks good on you, little bro!” He said.
“You… you still look the same. After all this time,” he said as tears fell from his eyes.
Marko stood and approached Elijah slowly, “Hey, don’t do that man. You’ll make me cry… if I still can.
“I wanted to find you. I wanted to see if you were alive or dead or…” he paused and plopped down into his cushy recliner.
“Sometimes, I don’t even know,” Marko admitted. “None of my bros are alive. I’m just the only one that came back,” he said.
“Why?” Elijah asked. “How? You were the Frog Brothers’ first kill.” He said.
“Well, for one, I was in my vampire form during the day. Two, I was in my own habitat where their lack of powers was even more limited. And three, I didn’t go down in a fight like my bros did,” he explained.
“So, you’re not a ghost?” Elijah asked. “You’re still a vampire?”
“Yeah, but my powers are restricted,” he said. “I don’t have to feed anymore, but I still don’t age. I can fly, and I can fade in and out at will like a ghost.”
“Why are you sneaking around and scaring my neighbor out of her mind?” Elijah asked. “She’s losing sleep, she carries a gun…”
“I’m not going to hurt her. I’m protecting her,” he said.
“Protecting her? Protecting her from what?” Elijah wondered.
“I’m protecting her from them. Just because they haven’t come back yet, doesn’t mean they won’t. I don’t know how they’ll be if they get here. I’m still this way because I’m protecting both of you.” He explained.
“How much danger are we in?” Elijah asked.
“I’m not really sure yet, and I doubt they’ll be very powerful if they get here. They died while fighting outside of the cave, in vampire form. So if they do come back, they’ll be pretty weak.” Marko said, “We’ll have to get to them before they get to her, though.”
“Or what?” Elijah asked.
“Or they’ll suck her dry and return full power,” Marko said. “I do miss the guys sometimes, but I don’t want to go back to being David’s servant.”
Elijah watched Marko drop down on his bed, “What do you mean by that? When you were home, you weren’t the type to let anyone boss you around,” he remembered.
“Yeah, I know,” Marko said. “I was the smallest one, though. I was the youngest. I was as strong as Paul and even Dwayne, but David had more power than all of us. It was that, or he could rip me shreds.”
“So, what do we do?” Elijah asked.
Marko stood and walked to the open window, “You don’t worry about that. Just remember, though. I’ll be in the shadows, baby bro. I’ll be watching.” And with that, he flew off into the night.
Elijah rushed to his window, but the night was cold and still. Only the sound of the crashing ocean could be heard echoing through the air. He started to wonder if maybe he had dreamed the whole thing. He was fully awake, but maybe he was hallucinating. Acting on one of his old wishes of seeing his older brother again.
He didn’t know how else to explain how his brother looked exactly the way he did when he left home. How was it possible that after thirty years, he still looked nineteen-years-old? Then Elijah remembered something he had read in a letter Marko sent home years ago. He went to his hope chest and found them all organized by the date they were sent. He took them all out and read through them until he found a specific one.
“Dear Eli,” the note started, “I know you’re still confused Bayan escort after all this time about why I had to leave home. I wanted to get as far away from the family as I could. I didn’t want my bros to find you and hurt you all. You, Mom, Dad, and Ariel (their sister) mean the world to me. As vampires, there is no discrimination over victims. Sometimes we kill for vengeance, but mostly, it’s for the thirst. We’ll never grow old, and we’ll never die… but we must feed. That is why I moved as far away from you as I could. I miss you, baby bro. You take care of our little sister. Until next time, no matter where you go. No matter what you do. I’m always in the shadows… watching.
Peace, Bro -M”
So it was real after all. Marko said he didn’t age, but he didn’t have to feed anymore. He said he was still that way because he was protecting him and Lynée. What he forgot to ask was why was Lynée important to him. Why was her safety imperative to Marko? There was no question that Elijah was grateful, but he couldn’t help his curiosity.
Lynée tried hard not to sleep. She missed Elijah, and she was still scared. Seeing a scary vampire ghost in a cave a few weeks after one helped himself into her home didn’t make things any better. Bad enough her sleep was already plagued by nightmares every night since she got to Santa Carla. The recent events weren’t making her enthusiasm for going to sleep any better.
She was walking along the shore again. Elijah was nowhere around and she’d never felt so alone. She looked at the cave again, and there he was. He looked young, almost like a rock star. His face was boyish and as innocent as Elijah’s. He had kind eyes, and an impish grin; as if he liked pulling harmless pranks. If she were younger, she’d feel safe having a crush on him. She was NOT going that route!
He laughed a little when he noticed that even in her dreams; she dared not venture near the cave. He walked to her and lightly kissed her hand. “So, we finally meet,” he said. “I’m Marko. Eli’s older brother.”
Lynée tilted her head as she looked him over and lifted a brow. He was gorgeous, but she again felt like having a crush would make her a “cougar”. Maybe even a pedo. That was not her style.
Marko, reading her thoughts, laughed again, “I know it seems that way, but trust me. I’m older. And thank you, by the way. I know you’ve been wondering why I’ve been watching you all this time,” he said.
“So, it was you? You’re why I always feel eyes on me?” She asked with a surprisingly calm voice.
“That’s right,” Marko said. “I’m doing it for your protection.”
“Protection? Protection from what? From who?” She wanted to know.
“I’m protecting you from my bros. I came back, and I feel like they will too. I didn’t go in a fight, but they did, so they’ll be angry, but weak. If they get to you or my brother without my help, you’ll all be goners. Even the kids.”
She gasped deeply, her eyes were wide with fear, and tears fell, “Why us? What did we do?”
He reached and wiped the tears from her soft cheeks, “It’s nothing you did, babe. It’s because of who you are.”
She looked confused but was speechless.
“They’d go after my brother because I love him. They’d go after you because he loves you,” he said.
Her lips parted in shock. She was rendered even more speechless.
“I won’t let anything happen to you. As long as it’s in my power, I will help you, and I’m sure he will too,” he said.
“Are you the one that grabs me in my dreams?” She asked, “The one that walked through my house?”
“Someone grabs you when you walk here?” He asked, “Since when?”
“Since my first night in Santa Carla. I always end up here, and someone grabs me in my dreams. I can only escape by waking up.”
Marko shook his head, “Dammit that means they’re close. It’s not me doing that, honey. I want to protect you. That was David.”
Lynée was shocked, “Oh God, no. What am I going to do?”
Marko was about to speak but looked up when he heard the familiar sounds of their flying. There were the screeches, whoops and hollers that he used to make with them not so long ago. They were close, and they were hungry. He shielded Lynée when he saw the distorted faces of hungry vampires looking to make a kill. Holding her close and tight, he had to get her out of there. “Lynée? You have to get out of here, baby. “WAKE… UP!!”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Lynée jerked awake with a gasp and a near scream, and the early morning sun shone in her eyes. Her heart was still pounding, and she was shaking like a leaf in wintertime. ‘It was real,’ she thought as she brushed her teeth and washed her face. Though it was only a dream, it had to be real. There was no way she could make something like that up.
She had just gotten breakfast on the table when she heard a knock at the door. She fell into Elijah’s arms as his youngsters brushed past. She looked up into his eyes and remembering what Marko said about his feelings Escort for her made her heart pound. She wanted to tell him about her very vivid dream. That was what she meant to do, but when her lips parted, she found herself kissing him.
Their lips and tongues mingled, danced, and swirled together delicately as if they had choreographed it. With their mouths they were exploring, searching for longing and a passion in each other that they didn’t want to let pass any longer. Neither of them knew if it was everything that was going on that made their desire for each other stronger. All they knew was that they wanted and needed each other. They had to get the kids off to school, so they had to wait just a little longer.
They didn’t speak when they got back to Lynée’s house, and the fact that they’d known each other such a short while ceased to matter. They slowly undressed each other and explored each other’s bodies with their hands, and lips. Elijah didn’t know if it was just because it had been a while, but he couldn’t recall any woman doing to him what Lynée did, the way she did it. Her lips and tongue made him tingle and shiver all over, and he smiled at the intensity of the sensations. Her hands were as soft and delicate as her explorative tongue.
She moaned with what sounded like pleasure as she slid him in and out of her mouth. She sucked the head and swirled her tongue along the whole at the top before wriggling it against the underside. Elijah growled in pleasure and gripped the bed covers. Watching her bob her head up and down while taking him deep in her mouth was just as pleasurable, and intensified the already intense experience. He slid his fingers through her head, and when he felt her relax her throat muscles, he rocked his hips back and forth. He wanted to say the dirtiest things to turn her own as she did that, but he couldn’t speak. He thought he’d be able to hold it back, but suddenly, he erupted strongly, and his hips jerked up and down beyond his control. He gripped Lynée’s hair, but not too tightly.
When he finally calmed down, he actually had to concentrate to catch his breath. What she had just done felt phenomenal, and he was actually shivering. When his mind cleared from the orgasmic haze, all he could think of was tasting Lynée. He craved her taste in his mouth, and he wanted to make her shiver and moan as he did for her. He wanted her to cum just as strongly. He wanted to feel her rocking her hips against him, and he wanted to hear her how she sounded as she helplessly called his name. He had never had the pleasure of making love to a black woman before, but he was determined to taste and please his chocolate girl.
Lynée hadn’t been touched in a very long time, and Elijah made her feel like it was her very first time. He kissed and licked every sensitive part of her body, correctly guessing which areas needed the most love and attention. Her responsiveness to his care of her lower parts was like reacting to an electric charge. Her moans were as lively as her rolling hips, and her passionate screams of pleasure surged through him, causing him to release as if being touched. She deeply arched her back when his lips and tongue brought her to a high peak of ecstasy.
He wrapped his arms under and around her thighs to hold them opened, and gripped her hips to hold her in place. He licked her cleanly shaven lips, and along her wet slit. When the tip of his tongue found her clit, her hips jerked, so he latched on and sucked while wriggling his tongue against it. She writhed and rolled her hips against him while gripping his hair. Though she thought she was trying to push him away to stave off some of the intensity, she actually held him there, and she began to shiver. He shook his head while licking and sucking her clit, and she screamed his name. When she came, she arched her back tight, and even using all of his strength, he had to let her rest her back on the bed on her own.
Their lovemaking was slow and passionate. They kissed and held each other close. Feeling Elijah pressed between her thighs was better than Lynée had dreamed. The few times she dared to not think of the horror film-like atmosphere of her current life, she fantasized what making love with him might feel like. She often had to pleasure herself when her fantasies got the better of her.
Elijah had fantasized about Lynée since the day she moved into the neighborhood. He always watched to see if she’d emerge from the house. When she did, his mind raced, and he’d grow as hard as steel. He’d go to his bedroom or shower and imagine how her hands would feel gripping and stroking his rigid length. The way she felt, in reality, was more amazing than his mind allowed him to visualize.
What Elijah was doing to Lynée was even more incredible than her wildest fantasies. Their hips rolled and writhed in sync with each other, and every thrust was more intense than the last. Lynée wrapped her thighs around his waist to feel every hard, throbbing inch of him inside of her. Equally, Elijah loved the feel of her soft, warm body giving in to him. The feeling of her wet, warm walls enveloping his hard cock was beyond intoxicating. He filled her, and each thrust made her gasp with a new sensation. Each pump of his hips into her created a more powerful level of intensity.
